Style guide —

Recovery Worldwide

While I came to Recovery Worldwide as an entry-level writer, by the end of my tenure I was a leader on the team — helping to manage the strategy and editing for content across three sites. That said, the largest project I took on was establishing a style guide for the company.

I came onto the team with two established sites and a third on the way, but there was no single source of truth for any of our content.

As the content team, we were in charge of research, writing, and laying out the content on-page.

The solution I proposed to the content manager was to create a source of truth. A document that every writer could pull from. I took the initiative on myself. I gathered all the information for our coding, established a regular style for each content page, and recorded consistent rules that fit our content. Going on three years after my departure, this document is still in use and is kept up-to-date by the new team.
